The phrase PechaKucha is derived from Japanese, and it means chit-chat. And that's what happens at a PechaKucha event, but in a very structured manner. Presenters take the stage, show some slides, and tell a story. The format is well-defined and it's the same around the world: 20 slides of 20 seconds each, for a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Presenters stand up, share a succinct presentation, and sit down. This is everything the old slide show or PowerPoint never was.
