Description:
Patriot Genealogy Workshop by DAR
The chapter's monthly business meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the small conference room of the library prior to the workshop.
Following the meeting, Daughters of the American Revolution Oro Fino chapter will conduct a patriot research genealogy workshop Saturday, April 26, from 10:45 a.m. until noon at the Lewis & Clark County Library Genealogy Room, 120 South Last Chance Gulch, Helena.
Chapter members Dorothy Ann Oliveira and Alene Stoner, who also are trained genealogists active in both the county and state genie societies, will teach members, prospective members, prospective Sons of the American Revolution members and others how to use many resources in the library, including the three volume set "American's Women in the Revolutionary Era, 1760-1790: A History through Bibliography," which was published recently by the National Society DAR and purchased cooperatively by the DAR chapter, Lewis & Clark genie chapter and the Montana State Society of Genealogy as a gift for the library.
Hamman encourages workshop attendees to bring their ancestor records, research papers and questions, as well as a sack lunch or plans to purchase snacks so that everyone can work straight through until 4:30 p.m.
