Nancy Quinn Wildlife Artwork
12:00 PM
Myrna Loy Center
Description:
The Myrna Loy Center's Jailhouse Gallery will exhibit a series nature art, jewelry, ornaments and cards by noted Montana wildlife artist Nancy Quinn May 4 through June 12. An artist reception will be held the evening of the downtown art walk Friday, May 13.

Nancy Quinn is an internationally known wildlife artist whose work is noted for its detail and accuracy. She is the recipient of two World Wildlife Art Championship awards and the subject of numerous articles about animal art. She now resides on a mountainside near Elliston with her husband, daughters, dogs, and horses, where she continues to paint and write about her experiences living in the wild. To view her work visit www.quinnwildlifeart.com.

Her first book, Go West Young Woman! will be released this summer through Hellgate Press.

"Before I create an artwork, I first have to make some kind of a connection with the subject bird or animal," Quinn says. "Above all I want to evoke a feeling and understanding of what is amazing about them in nature. Through quiet introspection I contemplate the best way to portray the special qualities of each subject, be it the fierce strength, vulnerability, graceful beauty, determination, cunning, or loyalty common to its species."

The Jailhouse Gallery hours are from 12:00PM to 9PM weekdays, 4-10PM Saturday, and 2-7PM Sundays, at the Myrna Loy Center. For more details visit www.myrnaloycenter.com, or call 406-443-0287.
