Art Exhibit, One Off Description:
We are excited to pair our newest gallery artist Tina Albro, of Seattle Washington, with gallery owner Maureen Shaughnessy in "One Off," an exhibit of new one-of-a-kind prints by both artists.

One Off will be up from April 15th through May 31st. Please stop by anytime during gallery hours to enjoy this exhibit as well as our Back Gallery where we have on display, many other works by our 17 represented artists.

1 1=1 Gallery Hours are Monday through Saturday 11 to 6pm
We are open on First Fridays and will be open for the Downtown Helena Spring Art Walk.

Painter, printmaker and art educator, Tina Albro, is a member of Columbia City Gallery in Seattle. She will be represented by our gallery in Montana, and we are very happy about that. We want our friends, family, and community members who have supported the gallery for the last few years, to meet Tina. We saw her fabulous monoprints at Columbia City Gallery a few years ago (around the time we opened 1 1=1) and decided then we wanted to show her work. We think Helena folks will find her work to be evocative and different. "I am inspired by the pliage method of painting and started to explore using this technique with etching ink, cotton rag and other printmaking papers. The interplay of intention and chance and the geography of the resulting surface and hollows created using this method are what interest me. When the paper is unfolded, the white circulates and allows space for the creases and color." Tina Albro

Maureen Shaughnessy manages 1 1=1 Gallery in historic downtown Helena. She is a painter, mixed-media artist and printmaker. She also teaches classes for adults and children in her studio behind the gallery. "I usually paint, collage or create mixed-media pieces. I like to tell visual stories and try to express the intimate connection with Nature that I think is so critical to wholeness. Printmaking is something I have explored off and on since my college days. I challenged myself to get serious about it for this body of work. I've been playing in my studio for months getting ready for this exhibit and I am really happy with this new work. It's sweet, heart-full, and rich in stories." Maureen Shaughnessy
