Helena Open Studios Tour Description:
HELENA OPEN STUDIOS TOUR

The Helena Public Art Committee (HPAC) will host its 6th annual Helena Area Open Studios Tour of performing and visual artist studios from noon-5:00 PM, Saturday, September 20, 2014. The Tour gives the public a wonderful opportunity to visit artists at work in their studios, allowing the viewer to learn more about the creative process of art and buy directly from the artists.

Performing and visual artists will demonstrate their work at 9 Helena locations. This year's featured artists include:
Recording studios - Soul Tree (Dan Nichols), Coelacanth (Lenny Eckhardt)
Dance studios - Dancing Lotus, Creative Arts (dance performances on the hour)
Theatres - Grand Street
Visual Arts - Archie Bray, Jim Howard, Mountain Sage Gallery, Emily Free Wilson

As a special treat for the Helena Area Open Studios Tour's 6th year anniversary, Tour participants can enjoy a leisurely guided trip on the Trolley to the studio locations on Saturday, September 20 for $35. The Trolley will leave the Archie Bray Foundation, 2915 Country Club Avenue at 12:30 PM, returning at approximately 4:30 PM where the Trolley riders will enjoy a reception. Space is limited on the Trolley tour to 30 riders on a first- come first-served basis. Trolley Tour tickets are available at Birds and Beasley's, 2 S. Last Chance Gulch.

For those who like to go to the studio locations on their own, tickets are $15 (individual and/or families) for this public art fundraiser.

All ticket purchasers are eligible for the special prize drawings that include tickets for a Grand Street Theatre show and the Nutrcacker, and a gift certificate from Silver Star restaurant.

In addition to Birds and Beasleys, Tour tickets are also available at the Holter Museum of Art, 12 W. Lawrence; Mountain Sage Gallery, 433 N. Last Chance Gulch; the Creative Arts Center, and from HPAC members: Vivian Hayes, Carol Montgomery, Cienna Cullen, Bobi Harris, Jim Gilman, and John Moore.

For more information, go to www.helenapublicarts.com or call (406) 442-1744 or 431-1124.

The HPAC is an appointed advisory committee to the Helena City Commission that promotes public art works in the Helena community and informs residents and visitors about the many works of art available to the public for their enjoyment.
