There are so many reasons people seek out meditation classes: to reduce anxiety, improve health and wellness, find emotional balance, manage work stress, and cope with life’s changes -- just to name a few. The research has shown time and time again that meditation can indeed improve our quality of life. Insight meditation is a kind of mental cultivation or mind training through which your mind becomes more calm so that better self-understanding can arise. You become more aware of yourself, of others, of your environment and ultimately of true reality itself. Meditation for beginners is designed for people who have little or no experience meditating, though some experienced practitioners may join to refresh their practice.

You do not need to be calm or have any particular belief system to benefit from this class! Each weekly class includes guided meditation using practice techniques from Insight meditation. There is also a discussion on a topic relevant to the skills needed for a beneficial meditation practice. The goal is to help you to tease out the practical details needed to integrate meditation practice into a busy daily life in the modern world. Classes are designed to be helpful and understandable to first-time visitors as well as regular attendees
