The workshop will be divided into a morning and afternoon session. Lunch will be provided. The morning session will discuss and demonstrate planting techniques focusing on bareroot and containerized trees. We will also discuss planting strategies for challenging locations and difficult soils; structural pruning of young trees will also be covered in the morning session. The afternoon will be a discussion and demonstration on pruning fruit trees. We will discuss pruning techniques for
different species and different rootstocks. We will also demonstrate pruning on a high density apple production system.
