Description:
Summer Reading Fun Rocks at Your Lewis & Clark Library!

Are you ready for the summer? Are you ready for long weekends at the lake and s’mores? No more teachers, no more books?...wait, wait, books?... yes, books!

To prevent the summer slide, your Lewis & Clark Library is joining public libraries across the nation in planning awesome Summer Reading Programs to keep kids and families engaged with reading during the summer months. With summer break right around the corner, now is the time to start planning to participate in the Summer Reading Program at Your Lewis & Clark Library. This summer the theme is MUSIC and the slogan is "Libraries Rock!"

The entire family will enjoy the "Four to Score!" reading challenge. Participants simply read four books, record the titles and possibly a line or two about what they liked about the book and turn in the completed sheet for a prize. The first time participants turn in a completed form they get TWO prizes; a book of their choice (reading level appropriate) and a little prize from our awesome treasure chest that includes coupons from local generous businesses. Kids can play more than once. They will get only one prize when they play a second, third time, etc. Score sheets will be available at the Information Desk and online beginning Friday, June 1st.

In addition to “Four to Score!” the Library will be offering an Early Literacy Reading Club beginning June 1st. Designed for families with kiddos, birth through 3 years old, participants can pick up an activity sheet and choose six activities to do together on their own time, and then hand in the completed activity sheet for a prize.

Both “Four to Score!” and the Early Literacy Reading Club run thru August.

Tuesday Tales returns for another action packed fun summer. Beginning Tuesday, June 12th from 10:30-11:30AM each week through July, Tuesday Tales brings another Libraries Rock theme to life. This year’s lineup includes: Cecil’s Magic Show; Princess Fearless, perennial favorite Markie Scholz and her fabulous puppet show; musical fun; Jack & Kitty; a special visit by the Helena Ukulele Club; American Folksinger Adam Miller; and a fun Grand Finale Party.
