L&C Library writing workshop for teens
1:00 PM
Lewis and Clark Library
Description:
Augusta native and young adult author, Mariah Hayes will deliver a writing workshop for teens on Friday, July 19th from 1-4PM.

Hayes will discuss what it's like to be a published author and lead teen writers through a character development workshop. This free workshop is intended for writers in grades 6-12. Teens interested in participating need to register by calling 406.447.1690. For more information on the workshop, contact Teen Services Librarian Heather Dickerson at hdickerson@lclibrary.org or 406.447.6683.

A love of reading led Hayes to begin writing. Her first published work was a poem written while in high school. “The Secretes of Time,” was featured in a Montana literary art magazine showcasing K-12 students.

After graduating with a Music Education degree from the University of Montana in Missoula, Hayes continued to pursue her love of writing by completing the manuscript that would become her novel Bloodlines

Hayes currently lives in the beautiful Sun Valley area of Idaho. When she's not reading or writing, Mariah's other interests include, fishing, hunting, spending time outdoors with her family, singing, playing computer games, and playing musical instruments, like guitar and piano.

Her novel Bloodlines, the first in a YA fantasy series, came out April 19, 2019 from Covenant Books. For more about Hayes visit: https://www.mariahhayeswrites.com/about
