Finding Your Mark: Exploring Individual Mark Making

This four-day workshop explores the expressive potential of mark making through the lenses of primitivism, automatic painting, and personal visual language. Participants will examine how artists develop distinctive marks that function as extensions of identity, emotion, and instinct. Through discussion, experimentation with materials, and engagement with historical works, students will develop a deeper understanding of how individuality emerges through the act of painting.

Local artist Sky Angove will lead participants to develop a stronger understanding of mark making as a personal language, leaving with experimental studies and a completed artwork that reflects their ever-evolving artistic voice.
PLEASE NOTE: This course builds on itself and is designed to take place over four days. Participants are expected to attend all four sessions.
