The final concert of the 115th season of concerts in the park performed by the State Capital Band will held tonight at 8:00 pm at the Memorial Park band shell. This band is one of the longest continually performing bands in the country and features 50-60 of the finest local musicians under the direction of Robert Loveridge.
This evening the band will perform the favorites chosen by the audiences of the previous 5 concerts. There will be a variety of pieces including marches, classical wind ensemble pieces, Broadway and movie themes, and ballads.
Picnics, blankets, lawn chairs, and children in the playground will help make the concerts an enjoyable way to spend a summer evening with family and friends.
