Mammoth Party!
11:00 AM
Montana Historical Society (east of the Capitol)
Mammoth Party! Description:
Join us to celebrate the opening of a new exhibit: End of the Last Ice Age. Learn what Montana was like 13,000 years ago and how people here learned to live with mammoths, short-faced bears, dire wolves, and scimitar cats.

Exhibit highlights include mural-sized artwork, touchable reproduction animal skulls, and the real stone and bone tools from the Anzick archaeological site near Wilsall, MT—the only known Clovis culture burial site in the world.

There will be fun indoor and outdoor activities including atlatl throwing, flintknapping demonstrations, Native drumming and dancing, PBS movie showings, kids’ crafts, and a book signing by University of Montana professor Doug MacDonald.

Enjoy free cake (while supplies last) and the opportunity to purchase Indian tacos from the Last Chance Community Pow Wow Committee.
