Open to all ages 12-17 (Cadets) and ages 18 (Officers) the Civil Air Patrol serves there community through three missions: Emergency Services, Cadet Programs, and Aerospace Education. Each mission is unique and offers all members a chance to do something that no ordinary volunteer can. The emergency services mission provides all members 18 and up with the opportunity to work on aircrew and perform disaster relief and search and rescue missions from the sky. Alternatively younger members perform a myriad of tasks such as emergency radio communications, ground search and rescue, flight line marshalling and much more.

The cadet program mission allows cadets ages 12-21 (18-21 is a special category of cadets as adults) to learn about leadership and practice it in a practical environment. The program focuses on: leadership, aerospace, fitness, challenge, and above all fun. Cadets lear to wear and take care of the military style uniform. They also learn military drill, teamwork, and self reliance. By being a part of the cadet program they are exposed to emergency services missions where they get another opportunity to hone their leadership skills by leading small or large teams of specialized individuals. Cadets have the opportunity to earn prestigious awards through the 16 phases of the cadet program.

The aerospace education program provides internal and external education in aerospace topics. Cadets have the opportunity to earn awards for program such as a Unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) academy, as well as a self paced model rocketry program. Costs of joining and everything else will be discussed at the open house.

Show your state issued drivers license at the gate and ask the guard for directions to the Regional Training Institute (RTI).
