Exploring Lewis and Clark through Swizzle Sticks Description:
The Lewis and Clark County Historical Society (LCCHS) is kicking off a new public series featuring speakers about different aspects of local history. These monthly presentations will be at 6:30 PM on the second Tuesday of the month at the LCCHS History Center located in the historic Steamboat Block, 618 Helena Avenue, in downtown Helena.

The first presentation on October 14th will feature long-time Helena resident Al Stoner presenting “Exploring Lewis and Clark through Swizzle Sticks.” Seeing the name Fred Harvey on a swizzle stick initiated Al’s curiosity, leading her to learn more about the Harvey Girls of yesteryear. Collecting swizzle sticks from a bygone era across Montana and the U.S. for several decades, her talk will also focus on her finds throughout Lewis and Clark County and the surrounding area. Attendees will be given souvenirs to take home with them.
