Join us for a delightful evening stepping back into the time when one-room schoolhouses were the center of Montana social life. Our program will feature a presentation by Jim Greene, who will entertain us with stories of how he and his wife Martha Vogt have been gathering photographs and stories of these historical and charming schools for a state-wide inventory of historic one-room schools.
The History Foundation and the Montana Preservation Alliance have been working together for several years to document and preserve Montana's many one-room schoolhouses.
Copies of Visions and Voices: Montana's One-Room Schoolhouses by author and photographer Charlotte Caldwell will be available for sale. All proceeds from book sales are used for schoolhouse preservation projects.
