There are nearly endless ways to use HSTs in quilting projects. Two triangles of different colors come together to make a square in this versatile block. There are a few different methods to make HSTs and this class will explore the most common options.

Quarter square triangle blocks (QST) are a variation of HSTs that will also be explored in class. As the name implies, 4 color triangles come together to make a square of a given size.

The students will make several HSTs and explore placing them in different patterns. The class includes several examples of HSTs and QSTs used in quilts.

Requirements:6 x 24 inch ruler, square ruler - 12" x 12" or larger is preferred; rotary cutter with new blade; rotary cutting mat; sewing machine in good working order with new needle; thread - neutral color such as cream, white or light gray; seam ripper; scissors, thread snips and quilting pins, fabric marker.
