Carroll College Canine Center Groundbreaking Ceremony

Carroll College
Carroll College Canine Center Groundbreaking Ceremony Description:
Carroll College will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for the Perkins Call Canine Center, which will be the new home for Carroll’s rapidly expanding anthrozoology (ANZ) program.

The Perkins Call Canine Center is named in honor of ANZ founder and retired Carroll professor Anne Perkins, Ph.D., and alumna Whitney Call and her family, whose gift of $1,250,000 for construction and a canine center director transformed the dream of a home for the anthrozoology program into a reality.

Carroll College offers one of the only undergraduate majors in the U.S. in anthrozoology, the study of interactions and relationships between human and non-human animals.

The Perkins Call Canine Center will be located just east of the Civil Engineering Laboratory, overlooking Helena’s Centennial Park. It will include a 2,600 sq. ft. canine training room with beautiful views toward downtown Helena, a 30-seat classroom, ANZ faculty offices, research rooms, a veterinary treatment room, wash rooms, and both indoor and outdoor kennels.

This event is open to the public.
