Queen City Swing Band will start the evening with a couple of all-time favorites. Then, the Concert Band will play a varied program of music, including Copland’s ‘Fanfare for the Common Man,’ an arrangement of ‘Battle Hymn of the Republic,’ selections from ‘Star Trek’ and James Bond movie themes, ‘The Bride of the Waves’ featuring solo trumpet, an Irish medley, and a piece inspired by the Black Canyon of the Gunnison River in Colorado. Conductors for the band are Tom Mazanec, Jerry Sept, Jim Perkins, and Nancy Trudell. The concert is free, although donations at the door are always appreciated.
